Hello Invoice

Creating your first invoice in Hello Invoice is quick and helps you look professional with clients. In just a few steps, you’ll have a branded invoice ready to send and track.
Prerequisites
- You’ve added at least one Customer.
- (Optional) You’ve set up your Business Profile with name, logo, and address.
Steps
- Go to Invoices in the sidebar and click New Invoice.

- Select the Customer you want to invoice.

- Add Line items: choose a flat rate, per unit, or time-tracked Billable. Enter a description, quantity, and rate.

- Adjust totals if needed: add Tax or a Discount.

- Set the Due date (e.g., 7 days, 14 days).

- (Optional) Add a Stripe Payment Link so your customer can pay online by card.

- Review the invoice preview for accuracy.

- Click Send Invoice. The customer will receive an email with the attached PDF (and Pay Now button if Stripe is enabled).

Tips
- Reuse common Line items (like “Website design – 10 hours”) to save time on future invoices.
- Enable multi-currency by setting the currency at the customer level.
- Add your logo in Settings → Business Profile to keep invoices on-brand.
Troubleshooting
- Invoice won’t send → Check that your customer has a valid email saved.
- Totals don’t add up → Make sure quantity and rate are numbers without extra spaces or characters.
- Stripe link not showing → Verify that Stripe Payment Links are enabled in Settings → Payments.
FAQs
- Can I edit an invoice after sending it? Yes. Open the invoice, click Edit, update details, and re-send.
- Can I duplicate an invoice? Yes. Open the invoice and click Duplicate to reuse it.
- How do I track payments? Once a client pays, the invoice status updates automatically to Paid if Stripe is connected, or you can mark it manually.
